my sabatour!

My husband who desperatley needs to loose weight is my challenge this time around.  I am cooking and stashing healthy snacks.  I  slacked and started to let him bring crap in the house.  Wen went camping and all he bought was junk.  I need healthy camping food ideas!! We love to camp , but it usually means junk food! No more i am going to insist he keep it at work!    I am sooo glad my BFF and her hubby are doing this too!!!  Love you Jules!  heres to wining to loose!

For Camping I love Aluminum Foil!

You can cook anything at all on a campfire in foil ( well almost). the trick is to put a wet paper towel on the bottom of the foil when cooking veggies. This allows steam and prevents burning of the veggies. Try asparagus!!! Yummo! Just try to do as much prep work before camping as possible!!! It makes for a lot easier and enjoyable camping experience. My family loves camping too and I love the challenge of cooking "real food" on the fire. I have tons of things I do, some typical campfire things and some not but most of them are pretty healthy. Good luck and have fun!

Chicken Brats baby!!! You can get some really great ones at Sams. THey're VERY tasty, and WAY better for you than hamburgers or hot dogs but you can grill them up on an open fire or camp stove. You'll love em. ALso, don't forget about watermellon and other great fruit apples, bananas, pears and peaches don't need any special storage like refrigeration. Also, a healthy granola is a great alternative to chips and candy.
